Help.

It is something that I do not take for granted.  It is something that I find it hard to accept at times.  And it is something that can be misconstrued or misunderstood.  Househelp.

Househelp in Africa is not only expected but can be seen as an insult to not caring about their people if you do not hire any.  Househelp is also just that.  Help.  Help that allows for us (especially me as wife, mother and language learner) to do what we need to do in this season of life.  And thankfully it is very, very affordable.

We are very blessed to have these special people in our life.  Yesterday we all were here at the same time so we had a special meal together.

LtoR:  Isaiah, Selah, Sofia, Rahel,Haimonot, Emuye, Shawaye, and Samela

Emuye is our childcare worker.  She not only takes care of our children when we are in language but loves on them.

Shawaye helps with the housework.  This lady is hardworking and mindful of details.  We appreciate the way she looks out for us.

Rahel comes a few times a month and makes tortillas and muffins for us.  She is an amazing baker.  Her daughter Samela comes with her sometimes.

Haimonot is our guard.  He lives within our compound and does so much more than just make sure we are secure.  Little things like playing futbol with the kids or walking the kids to the store to get a lollipop.

This is our family.  Yesterday was a great time of eating together, laughing together, and just being together.
