Run, girl, run!

This past summer Sofia discovered running.  Knowing that Sof enjoys activity this excited us because we knew there was no gymnastics here.

At our summer training, Kevin and I were required to run a mile and have it timed.  On the day of the run, Sofia asked if she could run as well.  Why not?

Sofia ran separate from us.  Kevin was amazed at how fast she took off.  He thought there is no way this girl is going to  keep up that pace.  But guess what?  She did.  Sofia completed her very first mile run in 7:20.

Then we moved to our new country.  We live in a place that isn't known for many sports but running they are.  One reason is because we are at an elevation of 7500 feet.

Upon arriving, we learned that it was cross country season at Sof's school.  With just a couple of weeks left and one race left, they were gracious enough to let Sof join.  And guess what?  On Tuesday, November 5, after being here for just one month, Sofia ran a race.  She did great.  Actually she did so well, she took FIRST PLACE among all 3rd and 4th grade girls.

We are very proud of her.
